If you want to hear me drunkenly rave about all things DIY plus try to get in a few jokes- listen to my episode on Something O’er The Hill podcast. Bart Dangus and Abigail Lynch just sold all of there shit to drive around the country in a camper and interview all kinds of interesting people. Really stoked on what they’re doing!
We made an immediate connection with the Arizona trio of Numb Bats the very first time we heard them. Our love affair continued with the release of their first full length,Gentle Horror, which came out nearly a year ago, and has been in heavy rotation ever since. Today we’re premiering a brand new video from the album’s opening tracks “I Don’t Know Why” and “To Die,” produced by Michelle Blades.
Opening with a fitting montage of drive-by scenery, the video amps it up for “To Die,” with the trio performing the single in places ranging from porches to open roads. It’s a total blast of fun.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for even more from the ladies , a new EP is expected this summer along with an extensive tour (dates below).

KALEB MARSHALL: It changed every so often, usually it was within the realm of science. I was one of those build a radio and use a chemistry set kind of kid.
JC: Who or what is inspiring you at the moment?
KM: Honestly, a lot of my friends as well as a handful of other artists. Lorenzo Porras and Lauren Patterson are a couple of people I’m always bouncing ideas off of. Harry Harvey, Daniel Shea, Mark Peckmezian (http://www.markpeckmezian.com) & Molly Matalon are just a handful of photographers I’ve been paying attention to. Ascetic House is also doing great things. There’s just so much going on right now and so many people making good work the list goes on and on.
JC: What are you up to right now?
KM: I’m in the middle of a new project. Also working towards a solo show in Phoenix, AZ in February.
JC: Have you had mentors along the way?
KM: I’ve had some great teachers as well as amazing peers who have all served as mentors.
JC: Where are you based right now and how is it shaping you?
KM: I’m in Tempe, Arizona. There is a complex history of people making great art and music here. The desert has so much to offer currently and I’m very happy to be surrounded by people accomplishing so many great things.
JC: One piece of advice to photography graduates?
KM: Explore new concepts with your work. Challenge your ideas.
JC: If all else fails - what is your plan B?
KM: No plan B.
JC: Is it important to you to be a part of a creative community?
